Regulatory
NMC Rules You Must Know
The National Medical Commission (NMC) sets strict rules for students studying MBBS abroad. Violating any of these means your degree won't be recognised in India.
4.5 Years On-Campus
Minimum 4.5 years of full-time, on-campus study at the foreign university. Online or distance learning is NOT accepted.
12 Months Internship
Mandatory 12-month clinical internship at the same foreign university and its affiliated hospitals. It cannot be done in India.
English-Medium Only
The MBBS program must be taught in English. Bilingual, Russian-only, or local-language programs are NOT recognised by NMC.
WHO & Ministry Listed
The university must be listed in the WHO World Directory of Medical Schools AND recognised by the country's Ministry of Higher Education.
NExT Exam is Mandatory
After completing your degree + internship, you must pass the National Exit Test (NExT) to get an Indian medical licence to practise.
Affiliated Teaching Hospital
The university must have an attached teaching hospital with adequate bed strength. Universities without hospitals are not NMC compliant.

Do's & Don'ts
Always Do This

Never Do This
- Don't join any university not listed on NMC / WHO
- Don't pay capitation or donation fees — they are illegal
- Don't enrol in a bilingual or local-language program
- Don't do your internship in India — it won't be counted
- Don't trust agents who guarantee admission without NEET score
- Don't join private universities not recognised by the ministry
